Nintendo Switch 2 Review: One Month Later. It’s no secret that the Switch 2 launch library left a lot to be desired: a non OLED blurry screen as standard, and unless you somehow made it to 2025 without ever playing Cyberpunk 2077, or are really super into Mario Kart to the point where it’s kinda weird actually. And yet, it’s selling like hotcakes: enthusiasm for the console doesn’t seem to have waned despite the fact that all of its games are remasters, ports of old games that play better elsewhere, and Switch 1 games, most of which don’t benefit at all from the new hardware. The Switch 2 launch isn’t alone in this: every console launch in recent times has felt similarly underwhelming. So does it really matter? If new hardware really is just a way to keep up to date within an ecosystem you’ve already bought into, are killer apps a thing of the past?
The Nintendo Switch 2 launch included Mario Kart World, and incredible remasters of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2, which runs similarly to Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam Deck and Xbox Series S. Were there enough Nintendo Switch 2 launch games? Should you buy a Nintendo Switch 2? Should you sell your Nintendo Switch 2? Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games include Metroid Prime 4 and Donkey Kong Bananza from the Super Mario Odyssey team. Until then, You can enjoy Zelda remasters and Cyberpunk 2077.
