Red Dead Redemption 2 came out SEVEN years ago, so how come it has never been superseded? It is indisputably one of the best video games ever made. It’s technically impressive even the best part of a decade later, it’s built around one of the most detailed and immersive world simulations ever conceived, and its narrative chops easily elevate it to Rockstar’s best work. It’s the closest thing we have to a genuine masterpiece.
But… seven years later, it should be starting to show its age next to the latest AAA releases. Instead, the internet is awash with damning comparison videos that show, time and time again, that new games just aren’t as good as this classic.
