Star Trek: Voyager and Battlestar Galactica RETURN at Gamescom - Trailers Analysed By Big Nerd

Not one, but two Star Trek games AND a Battlestar Galactica title as well. Middle-aged nerds are eating good at this Gamescom – but what can we glean from the trailers, is there any actual gameplay here, and what are these games all about anyway?

Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown is, believe it or not, the third game based entirely on that series, But unlike the Elite Force games which were (excellent) first person shooters, Across the Unknown is more akin to something like FTL, with the base-building elements of Fallout Shelter or Xcom.

Star Trek VR: Infection is a Meta Quest 3 game taking place aboard an adrift Defiant-class ship that’s been taken over by some sort of hostile alien gloop.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is a space roguelike strategy game from the Crying Suns developers that again looks like a more involved take on FTL. It’s a similar idea to the Voyager game, but looks vastly different in execution.

Three games bringing some of our favourite scifi shows to life, what a treat!
