The Nintendo Game Boy turned 35 years old on April 21, first releasing way back in 1989, the same year as Tim Burton’s Batman, Back to the Future II and of course, Super Mario Bros. 3 (in Japan). And in a lot of ways, that underpowered, 1-bit handheld defined what Nintendo was for the next 35 years.
