What are are the differences between Control Resonant’s graphics modes on the PlayStation 5 and the PS5 Pro?
Starting off with the base PS5 you’ve got the choice of your standard performance and quality modes. Performance has the game running at a native lower fidelity that’s upscaled to 1440p but runs at a pretty solid target 60fps. Quality mode, on the other hand looks great, but comes at a cost a target frame rate of 30, and an upscaled output to 4k.
The PlayStation 5 pro unlocks the game a bit more and offers three graphics modes that all output at an upscaled 4K resolution thanks to PSSR.
Quality looks the best with hardware enables ray tracing, a sharp image, and a much more noticeable visual fidelity across the board. BUT you can’t have everything because it’s locked at a target 30fps.
Performance offers a lower fidelity and no ray tracing but It runs at 60fps.
Balanced is a mode I hope we see more often as it has improved visuals like quality mode, but squeezes out a few more frames per second. The only caveat is that you need a 120hz monitor to activate it.
Regardless of what you choose, Control Resonant looks as good as it plays. Narrated by Nick Maillet.
