The dust has barely settled after yesterday’s seismic news of another major shake-up at Xbox. Leadership positions at Halo Studios and Gears of War developer The Coalition have taken a hit. Juan Vaca, story director for Gears of War: E-Day has been let go, just under a week before the game was set to launch on early access. And Josh Daniels, Cinematic Director for Halo, was promoted and then laid off in the same week. Layoffs at Halo Studios are not too surprising as Xbox is giving Activision the keys to Halo, but job losses at The Coalition are concerning considering Microsoft has not made any announcements about that studio. And in related news, Xbox is set to debut a new achievement: the mythic achievement, which will be their equivalent to a PlayStation platinum trophy. The sound of the new achievement has already been discovered.
